The Virginia Beach Boardwalk is a hot spot for locals and tourists from all over the world. Stretching 3 miles long and 28 feet wide with plentiful room for biking and rollerblading, there is an abundance of restaurants, hotels, shopping, bars and nightlife within a walking distance.
Check out our Top 10 recommended places you must see while visiting Virginia Beach!
Mahi Mah’s Seafood and Sushi Saloon
Best seafood and sushi on the Boardwalk. This is where I worked during my 12 week stay at Virginia Beach and I HIGHLY recommend it.
The Hilton and The Sky Bar
The most luxurious pool on the boardwalk during the day, but by night a club THAT HAS A POOL!! Everything at the Hilton on the Oceanfront is top notch, from Catch 31, one of the newest hottest restaurants on the boardwalk, to the on the roof pool, that turns into a night club after 10, and don’t forget the stage right outside of the patio of Catch 31 and your balcony if you book right! If I could recommend a hotel the Hilton on The Oceanfront would be it, hands down.
Wow! Just Wow! You never think you would get such authentic Italian food on the BEACH! This three part restaurant brings the right amount of Italy to the beach. You can get brick oven pizza, the best pasta on the board walk, and the only place I could find that had the best ice-cream ever, GELATO!!
This is an awesome local hangout, that has a patio, upstairs, and spot to play bago. if you can manage to get on the list. Each location in the restaurant has tvs, besides upstairs which is more of the restaurant. The patio is the way to go in our opinion. This is where we watched the World Cup last summer! USA ALL THE WAY!
Catch a Concert
Reggae is life in VA Beach with live music daily. We were lucky enough to be there when Bob Marley & the Whalers performed (not the real Bob Marley sadly). We also managed to attend a Band Perry concert with a few others. From big names on the beach to local band jamming every night at different bars, you can’t afford to miss some great vibes on the beach!
Chix Sea Grill and Bar
This was our hang out spot everyday after work and our favorite day bar on the boardwalk. Unlike Mahi Mah’s that is owned by Gold Key, who owns 70% of the boardwalk, Chix’s is a local owned bar who’s patios shares a stage with Mahi Mah’s. With the two patios so close and bago games going on in between Chix’s is a place to be. Can’t beat live music and a $5 pitcher of beer if you ask me!
The Atlantic Ocean!
Fish off a pier or at the end of 1st st or take a charter out for $27 bucks! We were fortunate enough to catch a few small black fin sharks. Surf (during season), boogie board, or skim board. Rent a kayak at the marina (although you can’t take it out into the Atlantic Ocean without a guide — believe us, we already tried…).
Visit the Aquarium
This was by far of one Trey’s favorite attractions during his weekend visit. From sharks, sea turtles (noggin, dude!) to a stingray petting station, they have it all. They even have a tunnel to walk through with all kinds of beautiful fish swimming over. If you have kids or just love the sea this is a must SEA ;). See what we did there!
Norfolk Tides Ballgame
There’s nothing better than a hot day at the ballpark with a cold beer. The Tides are a farm team associated with the Baltimore Oriels. A neat ballpark that has a great atmosphere! If you love baseball its something you need to check out in Va Beach.
